Heading out- days 3-5

Wednesday, July 12-Friday, July 14

After spending a peaceful time at Chatcolet campground we pointed the van towards Glacier National Park in Montana. We took the longer, more scenic route and stopped at Kootenai Falls along the way.

We lost an hour moving into the Mountain time zone and got to our campground just outside the west entrance into Glacier NP at 7 p.m.

On Thursday we drove about 20 minutes to a hike outside the National Park boundary because dogs aren’t allowed on trails in National Parks.

On Friday we were able to get a reservation to get into the park and drive the Going to the Sun Road. We got up at 6 a.m. to try and beat the traffic.

Then I encouraged Erika to go on a whitewater rafting excursion while I watched the dog.
