GDMBR day 65 – Monday, September 18, 2023

Total miles – 2592. 45 Total ascent- 167,298 ft

The final 45 miles

Lots of headwind, I had to work hard these last miles! There were a few tarantulas on the road and I accidentally rode over one.

Getting close
The finish
George came to the finish line!!

After the finish it was a couple of hours drive to El Paso where most of us are flying home from. We stopped at Crazy Cat Cyclery to drop off our bikes to get shipped home.

We popped some champagne corks at the hotel and ate pizza and reminisced about the trip. It’s hard to believe it’s over. It’s going to take awhile for it all to settle in.

Thank you! I look forward to seeing you again. Maybe we can fit in a bike ride! I have a friend who has lots of bikes, although now that I think of it he’s shorter than you. Well we will see.
